Roeslein’s Wellness Program hosted its annual Pedometer Challenge from July 19 – August 29 across all 9 of its global locations.

156 Roeslein employees signed up to participate and were divided into teams ensuring crossover between Roeslein’s various locations to foster global teamwork. By the end of the 6-week challenge, over 54 million steps were calculated, totaling roughly 26,000 miles.

Each year the theme of the challenge changes to bring some excitement. This year the theme was Looney Tunes, and each team was named after a leading character. Team captains oversaw collecting their teams’ numbers from week to week, and participants received updates announcing the highest stepper and current team rankings every week. At the end of the challenge the three teams with the most steps were awarded prizes.

Ben Scherer helped drive the challenge, keeping step numbers organized and up to date. He is a member of The Roeslein Way participating with the Wellness Program and works for Roeslein as a Senior Buyer and Group Leader. When looking back at the challenge, he stated, “The pedometer challenge is one of my favorite Roeslein activities each year. It provides a great opportunity to work together with different people across all offices. The extra push to be active and challenge each other along with the friendly competition makes it a great event.”

The Roeslein Way is a vital part of Roeslein. The program gives employees a platform to focus on a higher purpose. It allows employees to benefit others and to challenge each other on how they are contributing to make their communities a better place to work and live. Roeslein encourages all employees to volunteer their time to local community service efforts. Employees will have opportunities to volunteer as a group to make a positive impact on surrounding communities while building valuable coworker relationships.
