While attending the CURT Offsite Construction Workshop on Nov. 15th, the CURT organization recognized Pete McCall, Business Development Manager at Roeslein & Associates, for his Outstanding Service and Devotion to the Construction Users Roundtable.

In response to the award McCall commented, “It has been a real privilege to work with the CURT Owners and other like-minded construction professionals involved in the newly formed Offsite Construction Committee. I’m looking forward to what new objectives we will focus on in 2018 and how Roeslein can support them.”

McCall and the other Offsite Construction Task Force and Committee members developed and coordinated the workshop agenda throughout the year leading up to the event. McCall took special interest in and coordinated the efforts on both the Owner Survey and the DBIA Best Practices presentation. CURT partnered with FMI to co-brand The Owner Survey which includes key insights on owner organizations’ use of offsite construction across the U.S., including related procurement practices, organizational implications and perceptions around top benefits and impediments to offsite construction.

The final survey report will be published and available to the public in late December 2018 and will be highlighted at the CURT National Conference in February 2018.The DBIA presentation focused on why Owners might choose Design-Build for their capital projects and emphasized how Design-Build consistently outperforms other traditional delivery methods by delivering projects 34% faster with 11% less schedule growth and a 93% owner reported success rate.

Other things included in the agenda were an insurance perspective on Offsite Construction Risk Management, and three offsite construction case studies presented by GM Company, Chemours Company and TechnipFMC.

CURT’s Offsite Construction Committee – in close collaboration with the Construction Industry Institute (CII) and FMI – is focused on the improvement, support and acceleration of the use of Offsite Construction on Capital Projects.
