Therefore, during every step of the 5-Phase Process, Roeslein’s engineers consistently evaluate project components with regard to cost, schedule, and quality. When Roeslein is involved at the Preliminary Engineering phase of the project, the preliminary design elements developed during Phase 1 – such as Process Flow diagrams, P & ID’s, Mass Balance Lists and Construction Specifications – support a smooth and seamless transition into Phase 2: Detailed Design & Engineering.

Roeslein’s engineers develop detailed specifications as part of Phase 2, including the Mechanical Design Package, Electrical Design Package, and Installation Specifications. When Roeslein’s involvement begins during a project’s Preliminary Engineering phase, its engineers can develop elements of the manufacturing process that influence these packages.  Roeslein can achieve this level of client partnership largely due to its method of self-performing the fabrication and installation processes which occur during Phase 3 and Phase 4. Simply put, its engineers follow every project from preliminary engineering to installation and start up.  Furthermore, a single project manager leads each project and serves as the sole point of contact throughout the entire life of the project.

Next, Roeslein’s team compiles both Mechanical and Electrical Bid Documents to request proposals from local contractors for on-site work, including installation, assembly, site-prep, and electrical integration.  Specific documents include Site Criteria, Equipment Layout, P & ID’s, Equipment Lists, Vendor Data Sheets, Instrumentation Lists, Pipeline Lists, Construction Specifications and Materials of Construction.

Design Packages, Specifications, and Bid Documents are scrutinized during the Design Reviews.  Here, Roeslein’s engineers meet with the client, OEM suppliers, and contractors at 30%, 60%, and 90% of completion so that changes and input are continually taken into consideration.  Once again, because Roeslein maintains a single project manager as the sole point of contact, they maximize communication and flexibility.

Following the compilation and review of the Design Packages and Bid Documents, Roeslein manages Equipment Coordination and Buy-Offs.  As with the Design Review process, the team obtains buy-off from the client, OEM suppliers, and contractors so that there are no surprises.  Additionally, because Roeslein is not an OEM supplier, it can manage the equipment selection and coordination process with the sole focus of optimizing the project and customer priorities regarding cost, quality, and schedule.

Finally, as part of the Detailed Design and Engineering phase, Roeslein interfaces with both the civil and structural engineering teams to ensure efficient coordination of requirements for site preparation, building design, civil infrastructure and internal specifications for services such as electrical and plumbing.
