As prefabrication, modularization and other off-site construction techniques gain favor among contractors, a new study suggests that a substantial percentage of owners appear reluctant to adopt—or even explore—these methods for their own projects. And that could well pose an obstacle for builders trying to use these techniques to improve productivity and bridge the shortfall in skilled craft labor.

These examples articulate a growing understanding of offsite construction’s benefits, and not just in one particular market or geography and/or complementary to specific building codes. The international adoption of offsite construction will not only continue to gain momentum, but also is already starting to be standard consideration for worldwide design and construction projects.

Roeslein & Associates, Inc. attended the quarterly member meeting and Summit titled: Owners in Transition: Doing More with Less in Charleston, South Carolina on September 13th and 14th. This show allowed Roeslein representatives to interface with key decision makers from the industry. Roeslein was a Silver Sponsor at this event , which was the highest level of sponsorship at the conference.
Roeslein & Associates, Inc. will be incorporating Lean Construction into its business structure. This past July, in its all company meeting, CEO Rudi Roeslein challenged employees to increase their productivity by just 5%, imagining what this could do for the company.
Since joining the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) in March, Roeslein & Associates, Inc. has become active in several of the CURT committees. These committees are led by owners who are passionate about bringing meaningful change and improvements to the areas of safety, productivity, as well as, cost-effectiveness and best practices for international capital projects.
This past Winter, Roeslein & Associates, Inc., a leader in design-build project delivery, attended the Construction Users Roundtable National Conference in Orlando, Florida. Attending this event, led to the expansive decision to join the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) as a way to directly interact with like-minded industry professionals and help broaden important industry standards.
